Senior Strategic Finance Analyst

As a Senior Strategic Finance Analyst, you will have the following responsibilities:
  • Responsible to proactively support the company's strategic Capital, acquisition, and/or cost containment process
  • Provides a high level of comprehensive financial guidance/oversight from project proposal phase through the benefit realization phase
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the institution in its entirety and works to achieve results across disciplines, departments, and functions
  • Performs a wide range of task, responds to changes in direction and priorities and accepts new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments.
  • Grasp and understand a capital acquisition and/or ad-hoc project's impact on the company's financial position; now and into the future, and then properly advise project sponsor and senior executives accordingly
  • Routinely demonstrates a high degree of understanding of financial concepts and principals to adequately support project business case and budget development (ie ROI, NPV, detail margin and underwriting financial development).
  • Develops and maintains supportive relations across the organization.
The Senior Strategic Finance Analyst will support the company's Business Units and Senior/Executive management ad-hoc projects by:
  • Providing financial assistance and support such as cost/benefit, return on investment and capital resource analysis for corporate projects and activities, including new business opportunities, proposals and bids, major contracts, system conversions, and new product development
  • Designing, developing and customizing financial models and analysis utilizing advanced analytical techniques, complex financial systems and state of the art data query tools; helps direct the design, development, testing and implementation of financial and reporting system updates and enhancements, including updated internal controls as applicable
The successful Senior Strategic Finance Analyst will meet the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise):
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or Statistics with eight to ten years or equivalent combination of education and job-related experience.
  • CPA, CMA, MBA or ASA, along with health insurance experience preferred.
  • Uses initiative to identify and overcome roadblocks, tolerates ambiguity, stays focused and productive, even in ambiguous or difficult environments, and stands up for beliefs, even if unpopular.
  • Well developed business sense and demonstrated application of in-depth financial, accounting and business knowledge.
  • Proven ability to work with all levels of staff and management both as a self-starter and in a team environment, with skills at presentations and project management.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency skills with spreadsheets, databases and word processing.
  • Proven competency in being able to think analytically and apply analytical techniques and to provide in-depth analysis and recommendations using critical thinking and sound judgment.
  • A well developed aptitude to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with all levels of the work force.
  • A sound and consistent ability to plan and organize own work, projects and the work of others in the department, with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to effectively and comfortably cope with a variety of capital and/or ad-hoc projects at the same time while being able to command and maintain composure and good judgment throughout the analysis process.
  • Ability to think and work independently and prioritize tasks accordingly.
